Winter Retreat 2005 Wrap-Up - January 14-16 2005, Y-Camp, Boone IA
After ten years worth of Winter Retreats at Ironwood Springs in Minnesota,
it was a bit of a shock to hold the even some place new. Luckily, everything
worked out great, and we had ourselves a great time.
Programming was provided by David Radcliff of the New Community Project.
David did an excellent job of presenting us with challenging information about
the state of our world. Environmentally, socially, governmentally; numerous
perspectives were presented and all in attendance were deeply impacted.
Due to the extreme cold, we didn't get to go skiing or snow-tubing, but
we still had a great time outside. With the waterways around the camp
completely frozen, we did some exploring, and even played some games on the
frozen banks of the Des Moines River. The Y-Camp
facilities are excellent, and I think we have a new spot for our winter retreats
for the next ten years!
A great weekend was had by all, and I look forward to seeing everyone
again soon!
